Jelly Roll is eyeing Katy Perry's 'American Idol' seat

Katy Perry is trying to give her replacement an advantage following her tenure as a judge on "American Idol."

The longstanding "American Idol" judge will step down after seven seasons when Season 22 concludes later this year, and she has already indicated her desire for Jelly Roll to take her place.

While addressing the iHeartCountry event, the "Wild Ones" singer said, "Find a friend who talks about you the way Katy Perry talks about me in the media." Thank you, Katy Perry. I adore you till the death."

'You need to be on American Idol.' And the first time someone asked her, it was y'all, and she said, 'Jelly Roll.'"

Jelly Roll claimed that he would do everything to be a part of the competition series.

"Having any of these men, plus Jelly, on the program would be incredible. "I love you, Jelly," she said.

The "Roar" singer revealed in February on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that she was leaving the famous singing competition program to pursue her own artistic ventures.
